atomic clock server
Will atomic clocks/watches work in India?
I am planning to buy an atomic watch, which automatically corrects itself by "talking" to time servers located across the country, to take back to India with me. However, I was unsure whether it will work with the atomic time servers in India. Do they "speak" the same language as the ones in USA & Japan?
I know about NTP, but do these watches use NTP, though? IIRC, they use some proprietary protocol (carried by an RF signal) for syncing the time. So, I was wondering if the frequency of the RF signal is uniform across countries/continents or if these watches are manufactured with this capability built into the design.
No -- atoms in India speak Hindi, so you need a translator.

Hi, JT here. I recently received a Projection Alarm Clock as a gift and thought that it was just the coolest thing ever. I've started giving them to friends and thought I'd do a little research and put a site together about Projection Clocks and Atomic Clocks. I hope you enjoy!

To see the EXIF data, you go to the Flickr page where the photo is stored, and then click on the “more properties” link. And indeed, the datetime stamp is 2006.02.07 04:49:57However, this doesn’t mean the photos were actually taken on that date and time. Cameras don’t synchronize their datetime settings with atomic clock server in London or something like that. You have to set the proper time and date on your camera yourself. Most photographers just don’t care.At any rate, this date-stamp means nothing – one can manually edit it using any photo-editing software.Another consideration: the sunrise time in Tel-Aviv today was at 5:35 am. The photo’s date-stamp says 4:50 and that’s February – in February at that time it would be pitch dark outside. This doesn’t look to me as a photo taken 40 minutes before sunrise. The items on the deck are perfectly lit, I’d say the shots were taken well after noon time.Yet another consideration. All the photos on this flickr photo set have the date-stamp identical to that of this particular photo, give or take a couple of minutes. I find it highly unlikely that someone could have taken all these photos all the time back in 2006 February at 4:50 am and kept them just for this particular occasion.
