A question about time travel and the universe?
I heard that the universe is constantly expanding, well if the universe is constantly expanding then matter and energy must be expanding with it, so if a person was able to travel back say 5000 years in the the past would his atomic mass be altered do to the fact that the universe of 5000 years ago would be more dence than it is today, if it was altered what would the results be?

We cannot travel faster than light. We currently have fiber optics that use photon signals that transfer near light speed, only because of the refractive index od the cable. Why do you really need anything faster? Is it laziness?
No, FTL is not possible. Bells theorem implies that one of these must be true:
(1) ordinary arithmetic is self-contradictory (or: it does not apply in our universe)
(2) FTL communication is possible over non-local distances.
(3) the universe is not definiteable (see counterfactual definiteness); meaning that "measurements" do not really produce unique "results".
You can find people who will argue for one or the other of these, but there is no conclusive agreement. Still, most serious scientists who have studied this seem to prefer #3; one poll reported 60%. This leads to a "many words" interpretation.
