Hi, JT here. I recently received a Projection Alarm Clock as a gift and thought that it was just the coolest thing ever. I've started giving them to friends and thought I'd do a little research and put a site together about Projection Clocks and Atomic Clocks. I hope you enjoy!

The first answer is good. But have you tried replacing the batteries? The clock might monitor the state of the batteries even though it's plugged into the mains. Battery back-up doesn't work very well if the batteries are dead.
earthtoholly~ That’s great you will enjoy this! And I have no doubt that you will be versatile in dealing with it.

Nope, not quite everywhere. Not underwater.

Mark, short term cellaring in what you currently have should be fine. I have posted a little about this in my preservation article. You can create humidity by putting a try or cup of water in the bottom of the unit. Also, make sure you purchase a good temp and humidity gauge, that shows you your daily high and lows(I have a few from Oregon Scientific) so you can be sure you are getting enough humidity. 65-70 is fine. If you are serious about the wines you have and wanting to keep them, make sure you get yourself that equipment and keep your eye on it. I go down each night to check. Add more water as it dries out. You have the best questions to date Mark, keep them coming and thanks! Steve from the Trellis.

That's unfortunate that the cups and wind vane were damaged, hopefully your repair will last a long time. I was lucky that my mast was only hit by a small side branch of the main lightning bolt, the neighbour's tree that it hit wasn't so lucky.
Exactly–a nice clean device by Oregon Scientific. Probably the same percentage of people will be interested in managing their home energy use as have bought, say, an Oregon Scientific weather monitor. Well, maybe even less–I have an OS weather monitor but my programmable thermostat is sadly never on the program, and it won't be even on hourly energy rates–just not enough scratch to make it worth the hassle.
The downvotes are probably from people who feel slighted by you leaving out the brand they use. /r/photography is probably the most diverse group of photographers I have seen able to discuss photography in a somewhat sane manner because someone doesn’t try to start a flamewar. And though you said “i don’t want to start a flamewar here”, there really isn’t any other reason for your question. If you would have just asked “What brand camera do you use?”, you may have learned it may have been a combination of: • AgfaPhoto • Aigo • Aiptek • Alpa • Argus • Asahiflex • BenQ • Bolex • Braun • Bronica • Canon • Casio • Contax • Corfield • Coronet • Diana • Ducati Sogno • Ebony • Edixa • Exakta • FED • Fujica • Fujifilm • Gami • Gateway • Graflex • Hasselblad • Hewlett-Packard • Holga • Honeywell • Ilford Photo • Kodak • Konica Minolta • Leica Camera • Leidolf • Linhof • LOMO • Lumix • Mamiya • Micro Precision Products • Minolta • Minox • Miranda • Mustek • Newman & Guardia • Nikon • Olympus • Oregon Scientific • Panasonic • Pentax • Petri • Phase One • Plaubel • Polaroid • Praktica • Reid and Sigrist • Ricoh • Rollei • Samsung • Schneider • Seagull • Sharp • Sigma • Silvestri • Sinar • Sony • Tessina • Thornton-Pickard • Topcon • Vivitar • Voigtländer • Yashica • Zeiss • Zenit • Zorki I’m sorry if I left out someone’s favorite.
