how to set an atomic clock

Are there any websites that will set your computer clock to an atomic clock?
Like, well, you go to the site, and it will automatically set your computer clock to an accurate atomic clock somewhere else? Do you know what I mean? Does something like that exist, and if so, what is the link? Thanks in advance.
Well ok...but still, are there websites to do this? In my opinion, it would be a lot easier for me to do it that way.
Try these:
time-a.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov
time-b.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov
time-c.timefreq.bldrdoc.gov
utcnist.colorado.edu
time-nw.nist.gov
Now note that these aren't your normal websites. They're intended for use with the Windows Internet Time auto-adjust. In fact, you may be able to find a few more by doing this:
1. Right-click on the clock in the lower right corner of the screen and select Adjust Date/Time.
2. In the Date And Time dialog, click the Internet Time tab.
3. On Windows Vista, click the Change Settings button.
4. The Server list box should have a list of sites.
Hope that helps.

Casio G-Shock Riseman - Solar, 6 Band Atomic, Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer $159 The new Casio G-Shock RISEMAN, released by Casio America is the world’s first watch to feature the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping Technology. Along with solar-powered technology, the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping feature enables the watch to receive time calibration radio signals from six transmitters worldwide — one in the US, two in Japan, and one each in China, Germany and the UK. For superior display accuracy, the signals are received up to six times a day. Inspired by those who challenge high altitudes, the RISEMAN features twin sensors for both pressure and temperature in a shock-resistant case. This new G-SHOCK watch is equipped to measure altitude, barometric pressure as well as air temperature. Also, the RISEMAN features a full range of measurement functions, and boasts a unique three-layer protection structure to protect and enclose the pressure sensor. “The RISEMAN is a perfect example of Casio G-SHOCK’s commitment to both function and technology,”. “Casio G-Shock has been and always will be consummate innovators. We are pleased to be the first to introduce the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology to the marketplace.” Always on the cutting edge, Casio has improved the sensor-based measurement system. The RISEMAN’s altimeter can record measurements using both the stopwatch and the altimeter simultaneously. This versatile feature can capture recorded time along with changes in altitude, elapsed time, total ascent and descent altitude, and highest and lowest altitude. Capable of measuring altitude at five-second intervals, the watch is able to handle altitude changes over very short intervals of time, a useful function for sports enthusiasts involved in rock climbing, mountain biking, and back country skiing. With the mountain-based athletes in mind, the RISEMAN possesses a smooth back to reduce the gap between the watch and the wrist for a comfortable fit, while the band configuration prevents sweat from gathering. Additionally, the dragon has been chosen as the RISEMAN’s back emblem for its mythical ability to fly by manipulating the weather. Construction: Shock resistance Water resistance: 200 meters Radio frequencies: WWVB (USA): 60 kHz, JJY (Japan): 40 kHz (Fukushima) / 60 kHz (Kyushu), MSF (UK): 60 kHz, DCF77 (Germany): 77.5kHz, BPC (China): 68.5kHz Radio wave reception: Automatic reception (maximum 6 times per day) and manual reception options Barometer: Display range: 260hPa - 1,100hPa (7.65 to 32.45 inHg), atmospheric pressure tendency graph (past 24 hours graph display), atmospheric pressure differential graphic (arrows displaying the latest trends in atmospheric pressure) Altimeter: Display range: -700m – 10,000m (-2,300 to 32,800 ft.), cumulative altitude memory (memory works together with the stopwatch to record elapsed time, cumulative ascent and descent altitudes, highest and lowest altitude recorded); manual altitude memory (up to a maximum of 20 memory sets, with each set recording the altitud |

Bright Eyes - Easy/Lucky/Free & lyrics
How do I know what is the accurate time?
I have 3 clocks that self set (Cell phone connected to whatever time.. An atomic clock that sets itself, and my computer clock which right now is connected to the clock controlled by microsoft or something to that extent)
They all say something different. Within 1 or 3 minutes apart.
What time source is considered the accurate time?
the funny part is that the atomic clock is wrong sometimes because it changes on the OLD daylight savings time but they changed that day.. so one day I was an hour late and on another day I was an hour early because it didn't change on the same days as the new daylight savings dates

Hi, JT here. I recently received a Projection Alarm Clock as a gift and thought that it was just the coolest thing ever. I've started giving them to friends and thought I'd do a little research and put a site together about Projection Clocks and Atomic Clocks. I hope you enjoy!

Lars really could do with some lessons!
You're quite welcome, Bowie! And thank you so much!
The definition of a "second" was set so that there are 86,400 seconds in a day — back around the year 1840! That is the average date for the observations that were used to define the second (i.e., about 1790 to 1880's). Since then, then Earth has slowed down a tiny bit for a while, and sped up for a while. Since 1972, there have been 23 leap seconds, over a period of 13,149 days. That means that ON AVERAGE, over the last 36 years, the days have been longer than 86,400 seconds by 0.00175 seconds. That extra part is called the "excess length of day", and adds up to about 0.6 or 0.7 seconds per year.
Now, we might suppose that the Earth could continue at that rate forever, with each day being 86,400.00175 seconds (average over several decades). The would be zero deceleration. But in fact, the Earth is decelerating. In about 100 years, we can expect that the day will be 86,400.00375 seconds long. Then leap seconds will have to put in about every 267 days (average). And in 1000 years from now, the day will be 86,400.02175 seconds long, and leap seconds will be needed every 46 days (as always, on average). (The detailed situation is a bit more complicated.) Some people are worried about this — see the second link below.
There is a graph of the "excess" length of day at the first link. Look for the graph labeled "BullA LODS".
For a more technical paper, try the third link.
is it available to order? I really want a copy
No, the difference in the two time standards is due to the cumulative slowing. If the slowing ceased, we would still need to add those leap seconds regularly. It's like having a clock that's slow – if it loses five minutes a day, it can continue to do so indefinitely. By some innumerate arguments, you would expect it to slow to a dead stop in less than a year. The first number stated is the actual rate of slowing – 0.002 seconds per day per century. That's about 0.0036 seconds per year, not 0.7. That's a long-term average for the current era. It is in fact faster now than it was in the distant past because the ocean tides are close to resonance and are therefore absorbing more energy. There are also a variety of factors that can speed or slow the Earth's rotation in the short term, so the slowing is not constant.
As for your second question, about the leap seconds, I have seen some very confused arguments from people who think that if we need to add a leap second every other year, that the length of the year (or maybe even the *day*) is increasing by that amount every year, from which they linearly extrapolate a time when the rotation rate will go to zero.
A tattoo is such a personal thing, it's hard to answer! As long as it has meaning to you it would be a good idea.
It looks cool though!
the point of this all is to play a perfect game of bowling isn't it? =
so-called atomic clocks actually run from an internal crystal timer. they incorporate a 60 KHz receiver that tunes a radio data signal broadcast from Ft Collins Colorado. The clock uses the data signal to correct its internal time keeping, so that it will stay in step with the reference. Because the data is digital, it can send info on leap seconds, savings time changes, UTC hour, day and year.
the only jamming you might be able to accomplish is to cause enough interference to block reception, but that usually is done only once a day, late at night when school is closed. When the clock misses an automatic update, it displays an error flag.
the old fashioned "IBM" school clocks were made to synchronize to the central controller, usually in the principals office. if you could trick the controller, all the school clocks would change in step.

La Crosse Technology WT-3181P 18" Outdoor Atomic Wall Clock with Temperature/Humidity Reviews
yep his drumming on individual thought patterns is one of the best stuff he ever came up with..just awesome.
I wouldn't classify us as “exhausted” after this weekend, more like “duh.” Brooke and I got up earlier than usual, took our time getting ready and messing around on the computer, and then got to SSCC 30 minutes early at 10:30, or so we thought. After waiting around for a few minutes outside waiting for the “shift change,” Fred came out and helped us realize that we were victims of the Atomic Clock Snafu, as I will now call it.
The folks that control the automatic clocks apparently overlooked the shift in date for the time change and we placed all our trust in our clock. Oops.
I was really disappointed that we missed church. It kinda through off my whole rhythm.
ok
And one more thing. If its infinite, how can it have an age? What existed before that? Big bang? Matter and anti-matter? Where the hell did that come from and what was before that? No one knows, yet they claim it was all real. Why? because of the pathalogical need to explain things, even if they far beyond our understanding.
agreed i miss 2009 rlly bad
Thank you for a great review..!!
It depends on when it was manufactured. Get the 1st 4 numbers of the Serial Number on the bottom of the clock. If it is 0608 or higher, it will reset itself. If not then you will have to reset it. Got to emersonradio.com and click on 'Contact Us'. An option will appear in the middle of the screen for 'Important Daylight Savings Time' which will give you the instructions you need. It also gives a hotline to call for assistance – 800-526-7521. I hope this helps. I'm resetting mine right now.
