Casio G-Shock Riseman - Solar, 6 Band Atomic, Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer

Casio G-Shock Riseman - Solar, 6 Band Atomic, Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer

$159

The new Casio G-Shock RISEMAN, released by Casio America is the world’s first watch to feature the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping Technology. Along with solar-powered technology, the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping feature enables the watch to receive time calibration radio signals from six transmitters worldwide — one in the US, two in Japan, and one each in China, Germany and the UK. For superior display accuracy, the signals are received up to six times a day. Inspired by those who challenge high altitudes, the RISEMAN features twin sensors for both pressure and temperature in a shock-resistant case. This new G-SHOCK watch is equipped to measure altitude, barometric pressure as well as air temperature. Also, the RISEMAN features a full range of measurement functions, and boasts a unique three-layer protection structure to protect and enclose the pressure sensor. “The RISEMAN is a perfect example of Casio G-SHOCK’s commitment to both function and technology,”. “Casio G-Shock has been and always will be consummate innovators. We are pleased to be the first to introduce the Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping technology to the marketplace.” Always on the cutting edge, Casio has improved the sensor-based measurement system. The RISEMAN’s altimeter can record measurements using both the stopwatch and the altimeter simultaneously. This versatile feature can capture recorded time along with changes in altitude, elapsed time, total ascent and descent altitude, and highest and lowest altitude. Capable of measuring altitude at five-second intervals, the watch is able to handle altitude changes over very short intervals of time, a useful function for sports enthusiasts involved in rock climbing, mountain biking, and back country skiing. With the mountain-based athletes in mind, the RISEMAN possesses a smooth back to reduce the gap between the watch and the wrist for a comfortable fit, while the band configuration prevents sweat from gathering. Additionally, the dragon has been chosen as the RISEMAN’s back emblem for its mythical ability to fly by manipulating the weather. Construction: Shock resistance Water resistance: 200 meters Radio frequencies: WWVB (USA): 60 kHz, JJY (Japan): 40 kHz (Fukushima) / 60 kHz (Kyushu), MSF (UK): 60 kHz, DCF77 (Germany): 77.5kHz, BPC (China): 68.5kHz Radio wave reception: Automatic reception (maximum 6 times per day) and manual reception options Barometer: Display range: 260hPa - 1,100hPa (7.65 to 32.45 inHg), atmospheric pressure tendency graph (past 24 hours graph display), atmospheric pressure differential graphic (arrows displaying the latest trends in atmospheric pressure) Altimeter: Display range: -700m – 10,000m (-2,300 to 32,800 ft.), cumulative altitude memory (memory works together with the stopwatch to record elapsed time, cumulative ascent and descent altitudes, highest and lowest altitude recorded); manual altitude memory (up to a maximum of 20 memory sets, with each set recording the altitud

My first house was a World War II-era bungalow across the screen from Detroit. The neighbors kitty-corner to my back yard had a hound that would. not. shut. up. Politeness failed, and I even asked my neighbors if they had complained to the dog’s owner. They had. Complaining to the cops had no effect, since they were busy fighting off Detroit across the street. The cops had actually told me that the barking dog kept the Detroit craziness at bay and I should learn to appreciate it. not joking. It barked all night. Seriously folks, I mean all night. To add insult to injury, it stopped barking at 7:00am. I swear that dog had an atomic clock installed in its ass. Maybe it was the crackheads trying to break into their shed or something, but it kept me awake and after about six months of this, I snapped. My solution involved a trip to costco to purchase a flat of the industrial-size jars of Jif peanut butter. A small price to pay for months on end of blissful sleep.

my watch has a radio in it to keep it synced with the atomic clock in Boulder. the metal band broke and as a stop-gap i put the watch on a rubber band (from a stalk of celery, no less). 18 months later i’m still using rubber bands to hold my watch. they’re so much more comfortable than any other watchband i’ve ever owned. the rubber band will gradually stretch out and needs to be replaced every 7-8 weeks. had this watch for ~6 years. got it on amazon for 20 bucks. NEVER had to set the time, it had the exact time when it came out of the box and it has the exact time still.

so-called atomic clocks actually run from an internal crystal timer. they incorporate a 60 KHz receiver that tunes a radio data signal broadcast from Ft Collins Colorado. The clock uses the data signal to correct its internal time keeping, so that it will stay in step with the reference. Because the data is digital, it can send info on leap seconds, savings time changes, UTC hour, day and year.

the only jamming you might be able to accomplish is to cause enough interference to block reception, but that usually is done only once a day, late at night when school is closed. When the clock misses an automatic update, it displays an error flag.

the old fashioned "IBM" school clocks were made to synchronize to the central controller, usually in the principals office. if you could trick the controller, all the school clocks would change in step.

Gents Seiko Sportura Chronograph Stainless Steel

Beautiful. It catches the light well. Great band…it's pre-curved almost like a woman's bracelet and the latch & holes are slotted (unique). Eye-catching split-second hands whir like you've never seen before! Each watch hand perfectly aligns with every second and minute marking. However! It takes more than a casual glance to determine what time it is. The white hour and minute hands seem to blend into the rest of the many white indices. Your eye is immediately drawn to the chronograph's red second hand or the other red hand instead of to the white hands which tell the time. This is not a major issue. The chronograph is precise and has pause/unpause & lap functions. The small seconds sub-dial DOES stop so you can sync your watch to an atomic clock.

So what if global warming IS a fact, do you anticipate that the politicians can reverse it?

If CO2 in the atmosphere is the main culprit, how much of it is due to the burning of fossil fuels? (Answer: 4%)

So what are they going to do, when CO2 emissions from the sea account for 57% of CO2 in the atmosphere, and normal respiration accounts for 38%, with just 1% being due to changes of land use and de-forestation?

To make a significant change to the overall amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, let alone reverse it, you wouldn't be talking in terms of a 10% reduction in oil or coal consumption, or even 20%, or even 30%.

Nothing short of 50% is going to have much of an effect, and that would spell economic and social collapse.

It's very easy to state the obvious, but it takes a bit more sophistication to arrive at suitable answers I'm afraid, and a few people walking to work or getting the bicycle out, isn't going to save the planet.

In fact, the fashionable obsession with global-warming may be diverting mankind form the more pressing issues of over-population, waste of resources, chemical pollution and waste-disposal.

Furthermore, ALL the western government continue to peddle the myth of globalisation, neo-liberal economics and the rush towards world-wide consumerism; the very reason for excessive energy production, transport pollution and the problems described above.

In a post-consumer society, you may stand a chance of being taken seriously, but not as things are at present, because there are too many vested interests in maintaining the status-quo of capitalism.

i need to elaborate, the abdominal muscles are important, but to have the six pack, or the eight pack, its not so important for health, it shows you have a low BF% but to actually see your abs, it dosent mean your strong, it means your very low in body fat.
