Hi, JT here. I recently received a Projection Alarm Clock as a gift and thought that it was just the coolest thing ever. I've started giving them to friends and thought I'd do a little research and put a site together about Projection Clocks and Atomic Clocks. I hope you enjoy!

i usualy consider japanese quartz watches superior to their swiss counterparts, the thing is, unless you go to something special like a brietling aerospace or a tissot t-touch, is quite hard to justify spending more then 200 bucks on a quartz watch. while a handwind or a mechanical is a piece of engnieering put togather and has its charm. the quartz movements are just mass produced electronics. you see a watch like a tag heuer formula one which is 800 bucks for a generic basic quartz ETA/Ronda movement and it dosnt feel right, especialy when a 150 buck casio g-shock is more reliable and has superior features like atomic clock sync and being solar powred. i usualy tell people. low end automatics go seiko. quartz go casio or citizen, only if you plan on buying high end mechanical. go swiss.

The clock uses the data signal to correct its internal time keeping, so that it will stay in step with the reference. Because the data is digital, it can send info on leap seconds, savings time changes, UTC hour, day and year.
the only jamming you might be able to accomplish is to cause enough interference to block reception, but that usually is done only once a day, late at night when school is closed. When the clock misses an automatic update, it displays an error flag.
the old fashioned "IBM" school clocks were made to synchronize to the central controller, usually in the principals office. if you could trick the controller, all the school clocks would change in step.

My skepticism was increased when several skeptics pointed out a problem that should have been obvious. The ten or twelve IPCC climate models all had very different climate sensitivities — how, if they have different climate sensitivities, do they all nearly exactly model past temperatures? If each embodies a correct model of the climate, and each has a different climate sensitivity, only one (at most) should replicate observed data. But they all do. It is like someone saying she has ten clocks all showing a different time but asserting that all are correct (or worse, as the IPCC does, claiming that the average must be the right time).
