Why do huge American electronics companies like Sony, Samsung, LG, Microsoft, Toshiba, Sharp, HP, Dell, Acer?

build their stuffs in CHINA?

First off Sony, Toshiba, Sharp are Japanese, while Samsung and LG are Korean. The others are US. You have to realize that China has been on an industrial revolution for decades. Going back into the 1980s the Chinese government helped support new businesses by allowing them to offer the lowest price even if the foreign companies were making the products in house. So with government backing the Chinese companies launched a campaign to gain market share in production and were able to take away manufacturing jobs from around the world. Basically they under cut every else by a third. So if it cost you $100 to make a decent video card they produced the same card for $66. Now factor in that you can ship a lot on a cargo container vessel and the Chinese own or contract several of these and own several shipping companies they can control part of the shipping system in their favour. Now consider their wages are lower than most countries you now have a perfect model for stealing production from other countries.

Who Owns Blu-Ray ??????

okay so this is from wikipedia please read it and help me with my q.

The "Blu-ray Disc Founder group" was started in May 2002 by nine leading electronic companies: Sony, Matsushita, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung. Spearheaded by Sony Corporation, on February 19, 2002 the companies announced[2] that they were the "Founders" of the Blu-ray Disc and later changed their name to the "Blu-ray Disc Association" on May 18, 2004 to allow more companies to join their development. Some examples of companies that signed in include Apple, TDK, Dell, Hewlett Packard, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. and Universal Music Group. As of December 2007, there are more than 250 members and supporters of the Association.

- Wikipedia

so does that mean say, apple could sell blu-ray to microsoft xbox? or do they not have that authority, cause i thought sony had more power over the rights etc.

it means finally blu-ray will be in macs..

BUT
NO

it only means, as to my knowledge, that they are given the rights, with commission rates which varies, to use the blu-ray laser code (these companies are officially calling them "re-sellers") to make blu-ray players and/or discs, they can't sell this to other companies whether they are in the blu-ray game or not, that's 3rd party selling, that'd be illegal and/or infringement

I believe blu-ray way actually started w/, yes sony, but w/ matsushita too, first initally,

I GOT PS3 !!!

sony could eventually let microsoft get into blu-ray later on when blu-ray gets more popular,

but sony makes computers that have MICROSOFT components and operating systems, so microsoft may eventually get pissed and start making their OS less compatible with blu-ray to bite back, which will most likely result in bringing blu-ray in mic.'s pockets

blu-ray prices will get lower and eventually in under a decade everyone will have one just like we all have DVD players

& the funny things is there's like 2 companies who still make VHS, I'm like wft? join us in 2009 please, thanks.

"Electrical" refers to machines that are operated by electric power.

"Electronic" refers to machines that use electricity to transmit or process information of some kind.

Of course, every electronic device is operated by electric power, so you could call it "electrical" if you wanted to do, but calling it "electronic" is more descriptive.

You can tell its spam because of the informal language and bad grammar used. The whole e-mail has quite a poor structure and this is just not the way companies go about recruiting people.

Also, the domain of the contact email would be "genesco.com" or similar and not "mail2recruiter.com" – which is a free e-mail service often used by scammers.

Its best to forward the e-mail to the company.

It's certainly an understandable comment by Ellison, but it's not reflective of Microsoft's goals. Remember, this is a company that thought it could dominate any market it entered, as long as it got the products right. It came to believe that there was little growth left for it in the business markets, and a decade or so ago started turning to what it believed remained a fast-growth area – consumer electronics. It's not clear whether they now believe they haven't gotten the products right yet, or whether it is a quagmire that they can't win, but either way they can't retreat and write off all of that investment.

But I wouldn't under any circumstances call Microsoft a consumer electronics company. It is a marketing company that concentrates on technology.

Hard to say. I have done a lot. I have a range of skills and although I am never going to be rich or famous, something I have done has likely crossed your path. I have switched courses as needed. I went to school for art and design. I have degrees in both. I eventually got a fine art degree as an excuse to rebuild my portfolio after recovering from jobs with strict Non-disclosures and I was not able to use my work in my own portfolio. I started airbrushing clothing. I have made thousands of shirts over the years. I studied graphic design in the mid 90′s when the market was saturated. While in school I designed a lot of the signs for a company that builds for some major chains around the world. I taught myself 3d and started working in games during the dotcoms. Half of the games I worked on were published. After that crash, I finished my last degree while designing for an electronics company. I have since made educational cd’s and web on a college campus. Random projects I have done, are a few illustrations, trade show booths, a permanent museum exhibit, and many, many ads and brochures. I made a custom t-shirt for a guy going to Antarctica, so I know my work has made it to every continent. On of the games I worked on was Hasselhoffed (big in Germany.) I have never exhibited my artwork. I starved for a long time and once got below 100 pounds because I could only afford to eat a few times a week. I will likely never own property. I am just getting my student loans paid off. I have started a family, a bit later than most. Most of my creativity has gone toward trying to pay my debt. I have often regretted the career. I think that if I had never wasted time and money on an out of state school like the art institutes I would have been much better off. My state school degrees have been much easier to manage and have gotten me further. The worst was the fact that I could no longer afford to take chances once I was stuck with the burden of student loans. I was offered an internship with a well known illustrator that I couldn’t take.
