Need to find Large AM/FM display for Alzheimer's...?
Does anyone know how to make and/or where I could get a display with large "AM" / "FM" (needs both) letters? (It needs to sync to the time... if not be part of a clock.)
I have a friend with Alzheimer's who has a hard time remembering what day and month it is and also has a hard time figuring out if it is AM or PM. This person owns nothing but atomic clocks (including a watch) because they used to work in the Railroad Industry and in the Radio Broadcasting industry. I want to find a clock with a big display to help them tell what day it is as well as AM or PM.
It is easy to find a clock with large letters that is atomically controlled, and also has the day and month and even the temperature... BUT I CAN'T FIND A CLOCK WITH LARGE AM/PM sign. (MUST HAVE BOTH) PLEASE HELP!
I did some searching and I'm willing to believe the exact thing you want does not exist. Pretty amazing. I would have thought a place like the Alzheimer's Store http://www.alzstore.com/ would have such a thing, but they don't.
The only clock I was able to find with anything other than a tiny AM/PM display was at http://www.officeclocks.com/Wall_Clocks.html. Scroll down to the "12 Hour AM/PM Clock".
My other thought is to dedicate an old, cheap laptop to this task.
